Homeschool Library Builder

Homeschool Library Builder has such a fabulous tagline... "Fill Your Bookshelves without Emptying Your Wallet."  Oh, yeah, sign me up.

When I first started homeschooling over a dozen years ago (barely, but it has been 12 years and three months since my first Sonlight order) the big thing I wanted was for great books to be a huge part of our lives.  At that point, I wanted historical fiction, biographies, and some of the great literature of the past.

A company like Homeschool Library Builder would have been perfect for that me.

Today, loads of books is still important in our homeschool life, but now I own a lot of them. However, I'm still on the hunt for the classics -- mostly books I learned that I had missed out on in the past dozen years.

One thing I love about Homeschool Library Builder is that they have a "search by curriculum" feature, where you can click on your curriculum of choice (Ambleside, Beautiful Feet, Five in a Row, Heart of Dakota, Sonlight or Tapestry of Grace).  Clicking on one (I, of course, chose Sonlight) leads to a list of the various programs.  I could click on Core 200, and that gives me two pages of listings of titles from Core 200.

You can also search by age, or by categories such as Science or Classic Literature.

Homeschool Library Builder is run by two homeschooling families, and they stock both new and used books.  The used books are rated as to their condition, so you do have a good idea as to what you are in for when buying used.

They also have a membership plan (I've been a member for a couple of years now) where you can earn book points for every purchase, and those points can be used to pay for purchases.

This month, May 2012, they are offering an additional 25% off their already low prices, which makes this a great month to shop if you are looking to build your homeschool library.
